And So It Begins.

On Wednesday, the day after the election, presumed future Speaker of the House, John Boehner (R – OH) made clear his attitude toward working together to get things done. According to the Chicago Tribune, Boehner feels “Democrats must shift to the right and accept the Republican agenda of a smaller government.”

Ha ha. Yeah. Just like he shifted to the left when the Democrats took over as majority party, right?

Also:

About the president, Boehner offered politely: “We hope he is willing to work with us on these priorities.”

That’s a good one. This from the guy who “has spent two years as opponent-in-chief of the Obama administration.”  Why is it that the Republicans in Congress will spend all their energy blocking the Democrats every chance they get, but the moment they have the least bit of power, they want the opposition to bow down to them?

Brace yourself, it’s going to be a long two years.
